  1. For rajma-
  2. 1 cup boiled kidney beans
  3. 2 med sized Onions
  4. 2 med sized tomatoes
  5. 5-6 garlic clove
  6. 2 tablespoons oil
  7. 1 teaspoon Salt
  8. 1 teaspoon haldi and chilli powder
  9. 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  10. 1 teaspoon garam masala & kasuri methi
  11. 1 pinch hing
  12. For rice
  13. 2 cups soaked basmati rice
  14. 1 tablespoon oil
  15. 1 teaspoon Salt
  16. 1 teaspoon kashmiri red chilli powder & jeera
  17. 1 med sized fine slices onion

Steps to make Rajma chawal

  1. Onion, garlic & tomato add into grinder & make a smooth paste. Add oil to cooker, and roast masala till color changes.
  2. Add all dry spices & boiled kidney beans. Roast for 2 to 3 minutes again & add boiled water. After 4 whistles off the flame.
  3. Now add garam masala & kasuri methi. Keep aside, it ready.
  4. For rice, soaked rice for 1 hour. In a pan add oil and roast jeera & onion till crisp & brown. Add chili powder & salt.
  5. Add double quantity of water in it. When water proper boiled add rice,without water. Cover it with lid on mid flame.
  6. Check it occasionally. When rice is completely soaked in water, off the flame & keep aside for good aroma.
  7. Both dishes are ready. Serve it in combination. The best meal for everyone.
