- 1 medium onion,
- 1 medium tomato,
- 2-3 green chilli
- 180 grams boiled green peas
- Marination
- 1/4 tsp turmeric,
- 1/4 tsp garam masala,
- 1/2 tsp salt,
- 1/2 tsp crushed kasuri methi,
- 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 3 tbsp fresh whisked curd
- For gravy / curry
- 1 bay leaf,
- 1 cinnamon,
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds,
- 1 tbsp poppy seeds,
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1/4 tsp red chilli powder,
- 1/2 tbsp coriander powder,
- as per tatse salt
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1 cup water + little more as per gravy consistency
Instructions to make Matar Mushroom
- Wash mushroom very nicely and chop into desired pieces.

- Soak mushrooms into boiling water for 2-3 minutes so that mushroom gets soft and strain the excess water.
- Marinade mushrooms in curd + all mentioned spices and marinade for 15 - 20 minutes.



- Assemble all other ingredients, soak poppy seeds for 2 hours.



- Make a paste of chopped tomatoes + soaked poppy seeds + green chilli + garlic.
- In pan add cumin seeds + cinnamon + bay leaf, let cumin splutter nicely, then add chopped onion, sauté for 2 minutes till onion turns golden brown.
Then add all spices, mix well by adding 3 tbsp water and fry spices till turns aromatic or spices leaves oil.
- Now add tomato paste and cook / fry for 3-4 minutes till water dries to some extent.


- Add marinaded mushrooms + boiled green peas, mix well and sauté for 3 - 4 minutes.



- Now add any remaining curd from the marinated bowl + 1 cup water + sugar and give a nice boil. Simmer for 3-4 minutes under cover under medium flame.


- Now add chopped coriander leaves, mix well and simmer for 2 minutes and then keep in stand by mode for 2-3 minutes.

- Now Matar Mushroom is ready to serve.
