  19. 10-12 cloves garlic

Steps to make Mumbai Tawa Pulav

  1. Soak and cook rice. Donot overcook, otherwise rice grains will break.
  2. Remove the seeds and the stalk of chilli and soak them in hot water for 15 mins. Then grind it in a paste along with garlic.
  3. Heat the oil+butter in a thick bottom pan. Add cumin seeds, once they splutter, add chilli-garlic paste till its raw aroma goes away, then add onions, saute them for a while and further add capsicum.
  4. After sautéing for a few minutes, add tomato and sauté till it becomes mushy and oil+butter starts leaving the sides.
  5. Then add potatoes and peas, sauté for a while.
  6. Add salt, turmeric, red chilli powder and pav bhaji masala. Mix well and sauté for a couple of minutes.
  7. Add cashew and rice and mix it with a light hand carefully.
  8. Serve hot.
