  7. 1/4 th tsp rock salt
  8. 1/2 tsp ginger paste
  9. 2 green chillies

  13. 1 tbsp oil
  14. 1 tsp ghee

Instructions to make Dhaniya Aloo

  1. Boil 3 potatoes and cube them.Make a chutney with chopped coriander. Add 2 green chillies, ginger paste,lemon juice,tamarind paste,rock salt,chaat masala and 4 small pieces cubed boiled potatoes alongwith chopped coriander and grind to a smooth paste.Adding potatoes helps in binding the chutney to the potatoes and also gives a shiny texture.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and sprinkle cumin seeds.When they splutter,add the cubed potatoes and saute till light brown..Add roasted cumin powder, black pepper powder and dhaniya (coriander) chutney.
  3. Saute till potatoes are well coated with dhaniya chutney. Sprinkle a teaspoon of ghee over the potatoes and garnish with toasted sesame seeds.Serve this spicy and tangy dhaniya aloo chaat as it is as a teatime snack or as a side dish with rajgira pooris,buckwheat parathas, phulkas in breakfast, lunch or dinner.
