  2. 30 ml oil
  3. 1 onion
  4. 2-4 green chillies (finely chopped)
  5. 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  6. Curry leaves few
  7. Fried peanuts (handful)
  8. 1 pinch hing
  9. 3 medium size boiled potatoes
  10. (roughly mashed)
  11. Salt to taste
  12. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  13. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  14. 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  15. 1/4 th tsp garam masala
  16. For covering
  17. 1 cup besan (sieved)
  18. 1/2 cup rice flour
  19. Salt to taste
  20. 1/4 th tsp turmeric powder
  21. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  22. 1/4 th tsp garam masala
  23. 1 pinch baking soda
  24. Oil for deep frying

Steps to make Aloo chop

  1. Heat a kadhai with oil. Put onion, green chillies and curry leaves. Put a dash of hing and salt. Saute all.
    Next add ginger garlic paste. Saute till rawness is lost.
    Next add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala. Keep heat low. Add little water and mix.
    Next add mashed potatoes and fried peanuts.
    Give a nice mix.
    Let it be on slow heat for some time.
    Then switch the flame off and let the all masala come to room temperature.
    Make small balls as aloo masala cools.
  2. Then in a mixing bowl put the various ingredients mentioned above for the covering.
    Add water gradually and give a nice mix. Add a tbsp of warm oil. This will make the aloo chop crispy.
    Mix and make a semi thick batter.
    Let it sit for 2-3 minutes.
    Side by side heat oil for deep frying.
    Now take aloo masala balls, dip it in the prepared batter.
    Fry in medium heat oil.
  3. Fry till crispy and golden brown. Drain the extra oil.
    Serve hot!!
