- 1 small Raw Papaya
- 1 cup Bengal Gram Dal (soaked)
- 1 medium Potato (boiled)
- 2 Bay Leaf
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Cumin powder
- 3-4 green chilli
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- Salt
- 1 tsp Ghee, 1 tsp Sugar
- Oil
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala powder
- 1 Tomato
- 1 tsp Ginger crushed / paste
- Fritters
- Grind soaked Dal by adding 2-3 green chilli + salt + 1” ginger and grind into smooth paste
- 1/2 tsp Onion seeds
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt
- 1 ” Ginger
- 2-3 green Chilli
Instructions to make Papaya and Fritters Curry
- Assemble ingredients, steam papaya cubes and keep aside.


- Bengal Gram Dal paste. Add onion seeds + turmeric powder and mix well.
Start making fritters by dropping small small portions and deep fry till golden brown, fritters is done.


- In moderately heated pan / kadhai heat oil, add bay leaf + cumin seeds and allow to crackle, then add potato cubes and stir fry till slight golden brown. The add papaya cubes + green chilli + little salt and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Then add tomato also.


- Now add all spices + little water and fry for 2 - 3 minutes, then add 3-4 cups water and give 3-4 times boil.
After cooling is over, Fritters absorbs gravy, so have to add water accordingly.

- Add fritters, Simmer and cook for 4-5 minutes, lastly add ghee + sugar, stir well and simmer for few around 1 minute.
Curry is ready.

- This curry goes very well with plain steamed rice.
