It’s a combination dish of spinach, green peas and potato.

Ingredients and spices that need to be Make ready to make Matar Aloo Palak:

  1. 2 bunch fresh Palak
  2. 200 grams boiled baby potato
  3. 1/2 cup milk,
  4. 1/2 cup fresh cream
  5. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds,
  6. 1 tsp cumin powder,
  7. 1 tsp coriander powder,
  8. 1/2 tsp garam masala,
  9. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  10. 1/4 tsp , Turmeric,
  11. as per taste salt
  12. 1/2 cup boiled green peas
  13. 1/2 tsp sugar,
  14. 1 tsp crushed kasuri Methi
  15. 1 medium onion,
  16. 1 medium tomato
  17. 1 tsp ginger + 1 tsp garlic (finely chopped)
  18. 3-4 green chilli

Instructions to make Matar Aloo Palak

  1. Marinade potatoes with salt + turmeric for 10 - 15 minutes.
  2. Assemble all other ingredients, make paste of onion + ginger + green chilli.
    Make smooth paste of tomato.
    Blanch spinach and make a smooth paste.
  3. In pan add oil and fry the marinated potatoes till golden brown and keep aside.
  4. In pan add 2-3 tbsp oil, add cumin seeds and let it crackle, then add garlic and sauté for few seconds till turns light golden brown.
    Add onion + ginger + chilli paste and stir fry by adding little water for 3-4 minutes till rawness goes off and turns aromatic.
  5. Now add tomato paste + all spices (except garam masala) and stir fry till water evaporates to some extent.
  6. Now add spinach paste, mix well and cook for 4-5 minutes by adding green peas + salt.
  7. Now add fried potatoes + sugar, mix well.
  8. Now add milk + garam masala + kasuri Methi, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Lastly add fresh cream, mix well and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Curry is ready.
  10. Matar Aloo Palak is ready to serve.
