In Maharashtra, Kanda Pohe is very tempting recipe. Kanda means onion and Poha means flattened rice/chuda. I prepared this recipe with many ingredients and it became a lunch dish for me.

Ingredients and spices that need to be Prepare to make Kanda Pohe:

  1. 1 cup thick Poha
  2. 1 large onion chopped lengthwise
  3. as required Some curry lea
  4. 1 green chilli chopped
  5. 1 Tsp grated ginger
  6. 1/4 cup boiled green peas
  7. 2 Tbsp boiled corns
  8. 1/2 cup chopped boiled potato
  9. 3 Tbsp roasted peanuts
  10. 1 Tsp cumin seeds
  11. 1/3 Tsp turmeric powder
  12. as per taste Salt
  13. 1/3 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  14. 1 Tsp chaat masala powder
  15. 2 Tsp lemon juice
  16. 2 Tsp powdered sugar
  17. 3 Tbsp oil to cook

Steps to make Kanda Pohe

  1. Wash the thick Poha 2-3 times. Drain water. Add salt, turmeric powder and chilli powder. Mix well in a colander and set aside.
  2. Heat oil. Add cumin seeds, curry leaves and saute till curry leaves are crispy.
  3. Mix chopped onion, green chillies and onion. Saute till onions and translucent.
  4. Now add saute the veggies and masala. Then mix the pohi. Add lemon juice and sugar. Adjustable salt if required.
  5. The delicious Kanda Pohe is ready to serve. Garnish with green coriander leaves and green onions leaves. Enjoy with Tea or coffee
