- 1 and 1/2 cup udad dal
- 1/4 cup Yellow moong dal
- as per taste Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
- 1 tablespoon green chili ginger paste

- For curd:
- 500 g curd
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Other ingredients:
- As required Date tamarind chutney
- as required Green chutney
- as required Ready made papdi
- 1/2 cup sprouted moong
- 1-2 boiled and cubed potato
- as required Spicy bundi
- as required Chat masala to sprinkle
- as required Red chili powder to sprinkle
- as required Roasted cumin seeds powder to sprinkle
- as required Chopped coriander leaves
Instructions to make Bhalla papdi chat
- Wash and soak urad dal and yellow moong dal together in water for 4-5 hours. Then strain water from it. Grind in mixer grinder with required water and prepare semi thick batter. Add salt, asafoetida, green chili and ginger paste. Mix well.


- In a vessel fill enough water as we have to soak vadas in it. Bring oil to heat. When oil is enough hot, Beat batter with hand nicely and drop vadas into oil. Deep fry until golden brown. At Every batches beat batter well and then drop vadas in oil. By this process vadas turns soft after soaking in water.


- Soak vadas in water immediately. Soak for 25-30 minutes. Then press gently with hand and remove excess water from vadas. Bhalla is ready.


- Beat curd well with hand beater. Add little water and mix it. Add salt and sugar and mix well. Keep in fridge to chill.

- Assembling:
In a serving plate take bhallas. Add roughly crushed papdi, boiled and cubed potato and sprouted moong. Add chilled curd, green chutney, date tamarind chutney. Spread some spicy bundi and chopped coriander leaves. Sprinkle some chat masala, red chili powder and roasted cumin seeds powder. (Add all ingredients according to your taste and choice)
