  2. 2 Dry Red Chillies
  3. 1 tbsp Coriander Seeds
  4. 1 tbsp Fennel Seeds

  8. 8-10 Black Peppercorns
  9. 2-3 Bay Leaves
  10. 2 Star anise
  11. 1 Black Cardamom
  12. 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds
  13. 1/4 cup Dry Coconut pieces
  14. FOR THE RED CHUTNEY-
  15. FOR THE POTATO FILLING-
  16. 4-5 boiled Potatoes
  17. 1 chopped Onion
  18. 1 tsp Salt
  19. 2 tbsp Oil
  20. 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  21. 1/8 tsp Asafoetida or Hing
  22. 1 small bunch chopped Coriander Leaves
  23. 2-3 tbsp Dates Chutney
  24. 2 tbsp Dabeli Masala
  25. FOR SERVING DABELI-
  26. 8-10 Pav Buns or as required
  27. 2-3 Dabeli Masala
  28. 1 cup Sev
  29. 1/2 cup Pomegranate Arils
  30. 1/2 cup roasted Peanuts
  31. 1/4 cup Dates Chutney
  32. 3 tbsp Red Chutney

Steps to make Dabeli

  1. Dry roast all the ingredients mentioned under dabeli masala. Do it on a low heat. Grind to a smooth powder and use it as required. Store in an airtight container and use as required.
  2. For the potato filling, heat oil in a pan. Crackle cumin seeds first. Now add asafoetida. Now saute the chopped onion. And add the mashed potatoes. Add dates chutney and the dabeli masala to it. Mix well and garnish with chopped coriander.
  3. Slightly toast the pav buns with some butter. Apply red chutney on one side of the pav. And dates chutney on the other side. Place the potato filling now. Top up with some pomegranate arils. Followed by the nylon sev and roasted peanuts.
  4. Garnish with some more chopped coriander and onion too. Make all in the same way and serve immediately. Enjoy!
