So presenting creamy Methi Matar Malai in white gravy from my kitchen .
Ingredients and spices that need to be Get to make Methi Matar Malai:
- 1 cup boiled green peas
- 3 cups roughly chopped fresh fenugreek / Methi leaves
- 3-4 tbsp ghee / oil
- 2 medium onion
- 6-7 garlic pods,
- 3-4 green chilli,
- 1 inch ginger
- 3 tbsp broken cashews
- as required 1 bay leaf, 3 cloves, 3 cardamom, 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, 1 small cinnamon
- 1/2 cup fresh cream,
- 3/4 - 1 cup milk + water as required
- 1/2 tsp garam masala,
- 1 tsp coriander powder,
- as per taste salt
- 1/2 tsp sugar
Steps to make Methi Matar Malai
- Roughly chop onion and assemble all ingredients


- In pan add 1 tbsp ghee, fry / sauté chopped Methi by adding salt and fry till water evaporates, it takes around 10 minutes.





- In pan add 1 tbsp ghee, add chopped onion + green chilli and sauté till pinkish or translucent, then add ginger + garlic + cashews and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add 1/2 cup water and simmer / cook for 4 - 5 minutes and let it cool.



- Now grind it to a smooth paste by adding slight water.


- In pan add 1 tbsp ghee / oil, add all whole spices, let them crackle and then add the smooth paste. Add coriander powder + salt and cook for 2-3 minutes.


- Now add boiled green peas + sautéd Methi, mix well. Add milk and cook for 3-4 minutes under cover.



- Add garam masala + cream and mix well, also check for salt.



- Add sugar and Cook for 2-3 minutes, if gravy seems too thick then warm water can be added.

- Now Methi Matar Malai is ready to serve.
