  13. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  14. 1 chopped onion
  15. 1/2 tbsp ginger garlic paste

  17. 1 tomato (pureed with 2 fresh green chillies)
  18. as needed Salt
  19. 1/4 tsp tsp eric powder
  20. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  21. 1/2 tbsp coriander powder
  22. 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  23. 1/2 tsp curry powder
  24. 1/4 tsp garam masala
  25. 1/2 tsp sugar
  26. as required Boiled chana dal
  27. as required Sprinkle kasuri methi

Steps to make Tori sabzi

  1. In a pressure cooker, put soaked chana dal. Add the above-mentioned ingredients for boiling the dal. Put water covering the dal. Add few drops of oil. Then close lid and pressure cook it. Keep it aside.
  2. Next heat a kadhai with oil. Put cumin seeds. Add chopped onion. Saute till brownish. Next add ginger garlic paste. Saute this too till the rawness is lost.
  3. Next add little salt, turmeric powder and sugar.
  4. Next add the tori pieces. Mix. Cook it till softened. Next add the tomato puree.
    Next add red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and curry powder.
    Mix all and continue cooking.
  5. Next take the boiled dal. Add it into the cooked tori.
    Give a nice mix.
    Consistency is your preference.
  6. Let it be on medium heat for some time. Stir mix occasionally.
    As both dal and tori combine well with each other, add garam masala. Give a nice mix.
  7. Put kasuri methi on top. Switch the flame off.
    While serving give a gentle mix and then serve..
