Instructions to make Mangalore Buns with Vegetable Sagu
- Peel the bananas and put in a bowl.Mash them into a smooth paste.In the same bowl add the curd, cumin seeds,baking soda,salt and mix well.Now in the same bowl add the maida.Combine well and knead into a soft dough.Grease the dough with 1tsp oil.Cover and let it rest for 8 hours or overnight until double in size.
- Once the dough is double in size, knead for 5 minutes and make small balls from the dough.Roll out each ball into slightly thick rounds.Deep fry in hot oil and flip both sides until dark golden brown in colour.
- Serve hot with vegetable sagu.
- To make the vegetable sagu, put oil in pan.Add the cumin seeds and mustard seeds.When it splutters,add the green chillies, curry leaves and diced onions and cook for 5 minutes. Now add the diced carrots and peas and cook for 10 more minutes.Add salt and turmeric powder.
- Now mix gram flour in water and pour it in the mixture.
- Now add the boiled and mashed potatoes and mix well.Add little more water.Cover and cook for 10 more minutes.Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and Serve.
