- 4 tbsp Bengal Gram Dal
- 1.5 tbsp Semolina
- 1 green chilli

- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
- Salt, Water
- Oil
- Filling
- 2 cup grated Coconut (approx)
- 2 medium Potato (boiled)
- 1-2 green chilli
- 2 pinch Turmeric
- 2 tbsp chopped Coriander leaves
- 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 tsp Ginger (grated)
- Salt, Oil
Steps to make Stuffed Moong Dal Chila
- Soak Moong Dal + Bengal Gram Dal for 4-5 hours and drain excess water.


- Make a smooth paste of both dal by adding ginger + green chilli and add water as required.


- Assemble ingredients for filling.


- Grated Coconut.


- In a moderately heated pan add oil, add mustard seeds + ginger and allow to sizzle then add mashed potato + green chilli + turmeric + salt and sauté for few minutes like 3-4 minutes.


- Then add coconut, mix well and cook further for 2-3 minutes.



- Add chopped Coriander and mix well.



- Filling is ready and allow to cool. Discard the green chilli.


- Add semolina + salt + coriander powder + hing + turmeric and mix well.
We need a thick yet pouring consistency batter.


- Take a tawa or griddle, allow to heat and lower flame, then add a ladle full of batter and spread immediately in circular motion to form a round shape and cook / toast for few minutes by adding little oil all around.
It should not be too thin or thick.
All cooking under medium flame.

- Flip and roast the other side for few seconds.


- Then again flip back, add the filling/ stuffing on any one side, gently press the filling and then start rolling gently and carefully.


- Crispy Chilla is rolled.



- Crispy Chilli is ready.



- Serve with Tamarind Dip.
