  18. 2 boiled potatoes
  19. 2 medium tomatoes
  20. 3-4 green chillies
  21. 4 cloves garlic
  22. 1 medium onion chopped
  23. Some Mint and coriander leaves, chopped
  24. 1 tsp Roasted zeera powder
  25. 1 tsp chaat masala powder
  26. Salt to taste
  27. 1 tbsp mustard oil
  28. For mutton stew
  29. 1/2 kg mutton
  30. 3-4 onions, roughly chopped
  31. 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  32. 2-3 dried red chilli
  33. 1 stick cinnamon
  34. 1 small cardamom
  35. 1 big cardamom
  36. 2-3 cloves
  37. 1 bay leaf
  38. 3-4 peppercorns
  39. 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  40. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  41. 2 green chillies
  42. 2 tbsp mustard oil

Instructions to make Litti chokha with mutton stew

  1. For litti, knead the dough with the given ingredients and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Now for the filling, combine all the ingredients listed under the filling section.
  3. Now make small round balls of the dough and fill the sattu mixture inside and enclose it as shown in the picture.
  4. Heat up pressure cooker, apply oil on the sides and base and put littis inside the cooker.
  5. Remove the whistle and rubber and close the lid. Cook for 5-10 minutes on low flame and then turn the littis and again cook for 20 minutes on low flame till cracks appear on them. This means littis are ready. Drizzle desi ghee on top and serve
  6. For the bharta, roast brinjal, red chillies, garlic cloves and tomato on stove top.
  7. Let it cool and then peel the skin of tomato and brinjal.
  8. Mash the potato, tomato, brinjal with the help of a masher.
  9. Add all the other ingredients.
    Your chokha is ready
  10. For the stew, in a pressure cooker,
    Heat musturd oil, add the mutton pieces and saute for a while.
  11. Now add all the khada garam masalas, onion, dried red chilli, salt and turmeric.
  12. Cook for 2-3 whistles on medium flame.
  13. Now open the lid and cook the mutton for 5- 10 minutes on high flame till the oil starts to leave the side.
  14. Lastly add whole green chillies and garam masala powder and serve hot!
  15. Stew is optional in this recipe.
    You can enjoy litti chokha without the stew also.
