This is a famous dish from Surat, Gujarat in which spicy ,tempting mysore bhaji is served with dosa. Originally all process of making bhaji is done on dosa, but it is not possible at home. So here I made it in a pan and served with dosa.
Ingredients and spices that need to be Take to make Mysore bhaji dosa:
- For potato bhaji
- 4 boiled and roughly mashed potatoes
- 2-3 teaspoon oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon udad dal
- 1 teaspoon roasted bengal gram
- 2 crushed green chilies
- Few curry leaves
- 1 chopped onion
- As Per Taste Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon sambar masala powder
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoon chopped coriander leaves
- For mysore bhaji
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 teaspoon crushed garlic cloves
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 chopped tomatoes
- 1 finely chopped capsicum
- 2 teaspoon pav bhaji masala
- 2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
- As required Prepared potato bhaji
- As required Other ingredients:
- 3 cups dosa batter
- As Required Butter
- As Required Red garlic chutney
- For Servings:
- As Required Coconut chutney
- As Required Sambhar
Instructions to make Mysore bhaji dosa
- First, prepare potato bhaji. In a pan heat oil. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Add urad dal and roasted Bengal gram. When mustard seeds crackles add asafoetida, curry leaves, and green chilies. Add chopped onion and saute until onion turns translucent. Add roughly mashed boiled potatoes.



- Add salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, sambar masala powder, and lemon juice. Add approximately 1/2 cup water and combine well. Add chopped coriander leaves and mix it. The potato bhaji is ready.


- For mysore bhaji: In a pan heat oil. Add garlic paste and saute for some time. Add chopped onion and saute until onion turns translucent. Add tomato and capsicum. Saute until tomatoes tenders. Then add red chili powder and pav bhaji masala. Mix well. Add prepared potato bhaji and some water. Mix well. Add chopped coriander leaves and mix well. Mysore bhaji is ready.



- Heat nonstick tawa. Spread a big ladle of dosa batter in a circular motion. Apply butter and garlic chutney. Cook until the bottom side turns golden. Then fold it and Serve with Mysore bhaji, coconut chutney, and sambar.
