It originated in the eastern part of Tibet .The dish became popular in Nepal , Bhutan & the states of Sikkim, Assam & Arunachal pradesh in Northeast India. it is also popular in the Ladakh region & the state of Himachal Pradesh .
This soup also has its roots in China .

Ingredients and spices that need to be Take to make Thukpa:

  1. 1big Cup boiled noodles
  2. 1small cup Chopped Spinach
  3. 1small cup chopped cabbage
  4. 1/2small cup chopped Carrot
  5. 1/2 cup chopped beans
  6. 1/2 cup chopped spinach (green part)
  7. 1 chopped onion
  8. 1 small pc chopped ginger
  9. 2-3 chopped green chilli
  10. 5-7 chopped garlic
  11. 2 tbsp lime juice
  12. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  13. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  14. 1 tsp roasted cumin seeds powder
  15. as per taste Salt
  16. 1-11/2 tbsp Olive oil
  17. 1 tbsp soya sauce
  18. 1/2 tbsp red chilli sauce / sweet chilli sauce
  19. 4 cups water/ veg stock

Steps to make Thukpa

  1. Firstly chop all the veggies very finely. Boil noodles n keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a-big pan. Add ginger, garlic & chilli to it. cook for a minute.
  3. Add onion & saute it. then add carrot, cabbage, beans & spring onion. cook for 5 mins.
  4. Then add sauces, spices & stir well.
  5. Add water to it & cook till one boil.
  6. Then add spinach, lime juice to it & cook for 3-4 boils. Switch off the flame.
  7. Take some noodles in a bowl & pour the thukpa soup in/on it.
  8. Garnish with green part of spring onion & enjoy hot soupy noodles.
